| Click here to view the estimated programs fees for AsiaLearn semester and year abroad programs. AsiaLearn offers a wide range of services for all year and semester abroad programs. Some universities offer additional excursions or programs for AsiaLearn students. Be sure to read through the “Special Programs” section on each university profile page for more information. PERSONALIZED PRE-DEPARTURE ADVISING Your AsiaLearn coordinator will assist you with all the steps required to select your classes, ensure transfer credit at your home university, book airline tickets, arrange housing, transfer financial aid, and much more. AsiaLearn’s Enrollment Coordinators have all lived, studied, or worked abroad and thus know exactly what you are going through as you prepare to leave. They are available Monday - Friday, 8-5 (MST) to answer any and all questions you, your parents, or advisors have. A transcript from the university you attend abroad will be provided about 6-8 weeks after your program ends for transfer credit to your home university. IMMIGRATION VISA ADVISING AsiaLearn provides step-by-step instructions and personalized advising from a staff member in the office who is dedicated to ensuring that each participant has a student visa before departing the country. Most countries require a fee for a student immigration visa. This fee is not included in the AsiaLearn program fees. All student visa fees are set by the immigration department of the visiting country, not by AsiaLearn. TUITION AND FEES As a study abroad student, you will be required to enroll as a full time student. Your semester is equivalent to 12-16 U.S. credits. Additional charges may apply for science, media, fine arts, or journalism subjects at some universities. We have included mandatory fees at the host university such as the Student Union Fee (where applicable). Several universities have included the Sports and Rec. membership; activities are usually extra. Fees are subject to change due to university fee increases prior to commencement of program. Fees are in U.S. dollars and program fee increases or refunds will not be issued due to exchange rate fluctuation. HEALTH INSURANCE Health insurance is mandatory for all AsiaLearn participants. AsiaLearn provides all students with HTH Worldwide insurance, which is included in the program fees. Read more about what's covered by HTH Worldwide. BRIDGING CULTURES PROGRAM Program fees include AsiaLearn's multi-day, in-country Bridging Cultures Program. Click here for more information on the Bridging Cultures Program in each country. (Bridging Cultures Programs are only available for semester or year abroad programs.) ACCOMMODATION AsiaLearn provides guaranteed prearranged accommodation at all of our university locations, and the fees associated with accommodation are paid to AsiaLearn prior to departure. Depending on the university and location, students may be able to choose from more than one accommodation option, however, at some locations, there is only one housing option available. In many cases, students may be charged for telephone usage, special events, internet connection and usage, extra nights accommodation, and other miscellaneous items on arrival. Student rooms are allocated based upon the date of initial and second payment as well as submission of your housing form. Prearranged accommodation without meals is typically dormitory-style living on or near the campus. Generally, accommodation is shared, but private rooms are occasionally available. Bathrooms are occassional en suite, but generally they are commonly shared. In some instances you will have common areas for studying and shared kitchens. The unit will be furnished with basic cooking elements and there will be markets within walking distance or a bus ride from your accommodation for acquiring all your necessary supplies. Housing deposits are not included in program fees and vary from $200 - $500 USD. Deposits are billed prior to departure. IN-COUNTRY SUPPORT In-country support is available in each country for general support services and emergencies. Meet the AsiaLearn Resident Coordinator at your Host University. ALUMNI PROGRAM Once you have returned from your program abroad, you will be asked to fill out our online evaluation of your program, experiences, and overall opinion of the program, university, and more. Alumni are also asked to participate in future AsiaLearn events or other activities as a part of our enCompass Program. |
